18 potato chips come with an adorable tin holder. Made of hard wood with a completely non-toxic finish. These potato chips make a whimsical addition to any play food collection or play kitchen. Created to withstand years of childhood adoration and play. One of our favorites! Did you know… In the summer of 1853, an American Indian named George Crum, was employed as a chef at a resort in Saratoga Springs, New York. He prepared the standard thick-cut French style that was popularized in France in the 1700s. One evening, a dinner guest rejected the order of French-fried potato, so Crum cut and fried a thinner batch. The dinner guest once again rejected the order. To purposefully irritate the guest, Crum cut fries too thin and crisp to skewer with a fork. The plan backfired! The guest was excited by the over-the browned, paper-thin potatoes. Other guests began asking for Crum’s potato chips, and the chips became a house specialty.
